Global signatures provide a unifying appearance to messages sent by GroupWise users. You can create multiple global signatures for your GroupWise system, and then assign them to various sets of users.
Global signatures can be appended to messages at two points in the sending process:
GroupWise Client: The GroupWise client appends global signatures when the user clicks Send. The global signature is appended after any personal signatures that the user has created. If S/MIME encryption is enabled, the global signature is encrypted along with the rest of the message.
For GroupWise client users, you can assign a global signature at the domain, post office, or user level (Domain, Post Office, or User object > Client Options > Send > Global Signature).
Internet Agent: The GWIA appends global signatures to messages that are sent outside your local GroupWise system. However, the GWIA does not append global signatures to S/MIME-encoded messages, nor does it duplicate global signatures already appended by the GroupWise client.
For messages addressed outside your GroupWise system, you can assign a global signature on each GWIA (GWIA object > SMTP/MIME Settings > Message Formatting > Default Global Signature).
Messages sent from GroupWise Web receive global signatures when they pass through the GWIA and out of your GroupWise system, but they do not receive global signatures when they are delivered within your local GroupWise system.
Global Signatures List: Lists the global signatures that are defined in your GroupWise system. Click the name of a global signature to edit the signature text and format.
New: Click New to define a new global signature.
Delete: Select one or more global signatures, then click Delete to remove them from the list.
Set Default: Select the default global signature for your GroupWise system, then click Set Default. The default global signature is not appended until you use Client Options to enable it for the GroupWise client, or SMTP/MIME Message Formatting to enable it for the GWIA.

Global signatures provide a unifying appearance to messages sent by GroupWise users. You can create multiple global signatures for your GroupWise system, and then assign them to various sets of users.
Global signatures are composed in HTML format. A plain-text version is automatically generated. Because global signatures become part of the messages to which they are appended, large global signatures can noticeably increase the size of GroupWise mailboxes.
Name: For a new global signature, specify a unique and descriptive name. You select the signature by name when you assign it by using Client Options for the GroupWise client or SMTP/MIME Message Formatting for the GWIA. You cannot edit an existing name.
Use the HTML editing tools to compose the global signature to append to HTML-formatted messages.
(Optional) Provide a plain-text version of the global signature to append to plain-text formatted messages.
If you do not provide a plain-text version, one is automatically generated when you save the signature. You can edit the plain-text version as needed to improve the appearance. However, if you subsequently edit the HTML version, you must also manually edit the plain-text version to match.

Template Signatures let you create a Global Signature that uses directory attributes to dynamically create the signature for each user based on values from their account. The variables that are available for templates are:
