57.6 Creating the GroupWise Events in Advanced Authentication

You must create two different events for GroupWise: a Generic event and an OAuth2 event. The Generic event is used by UI-less clients (including GMS) for MFA. The OAuth2 event is used by the GroupWise client, Administration Console, Messenger, and Web for a UI prompt for MFA.

57.6.1 Creating a Generic Event

  1. In the Advanced Authentication Administration Console, select Events in the left Navigation.

  2. Follow the steps in Creating a Generic Event in the Advanced Authentication Administration Guide.

IMPORTANT:Make sure that you add your Endpoint(s) to the whitelist if you are only using this for certain Endpoints.

Write down the Generic Event Name on the Multi-Factor Authentication Worksheet.

  3. Continue with Creating an OAuth2 Event.

57.6.2 Creating an OAuth2 Event

  1. In the Advanced Authentication Administration Console, select Events in the left Navigation.

  2. Follow the steps in Creating an OAuth2.0/ OpenID Connect Event in the Advanced Authentication Administration Guide.

IMPORTANT:In the Redirect URI, put https://localGWClient. You will update this with the full redirect list later after you configure GroupWise.

WARNING:Do not enabled reCaptchas if you are using the GroupWise Messenger client on Linux. They break the Messenger client on Linux.

Write down the OAuth2 Event Name, OAuth2 Client ID, and OAuth2 Client Secret on the Multi-Factor Authentication Worksheet.

  3. Continue with Configuring Advanced Authentication in GroupWise Admin.
