Creating the Default Replication Settings

If you want to send the same outgoing discussion groups to all replication hosts, you can create a default replication setting that specifies those discussion groups. The default replication setting is to send no discussion groups.

  1. From the General Administration page, click the News Server server name button > Discussion Replication > Edit Default Replication Settings.

  2. Click the Send drop-down list.

  3. Select which discussion groups you want to send.

  4. If you select Specified Discussion Groups or All But Specified Discussion Groups, in the Discussion Groups field, type the name of the discussion groups.

    You can specify patterns, such as ROYAL.* to send all discussion groups that start with royal. You can also use negation patterns, such as !*.ANIMALS.* to specify not to send anything that has animals in its name.

  6. To apply the default replication settings to a replication host, when you configure your replication host, select Default Discussion Groups from the Send drop-down list on the Configure Replication Host form.
