You can specify whether you want to receive the news.daily report and emergency warnings, such as "News.daily cannot send a report because it cannot write to a temporary file."
You can view the news.daily report in the View Daily Report form (News Server interface > Reports > View Daily Report), so you might not want to receive the report by e-mail. It is a good idea, however, to receive emergency warnings by e-mail so you can take corrective action immediately.
You can also receive control articles by e-mail if you specify to in the Control Article Handling form (from the News Server interface, click Discussion Replication > Control Article Handling).
From the General Administration page, click the News Server server name button > Reports > Mail Notices.
Type the e-mail address of the administrator.
Type the mail hostname.
Check the Send News.daily Report to Admin Via E-Mail check box if you want to receive the news.daily report.
Check the Send Emergency Warnings to Admin Via E-Mail check box if you want to receive emergency warnings.
Click OK.
