7.2 About Filr Content Indexing

Only files that live in Net Folders that are specifically enabled for indexing have their content indexed.

Files in home folders and personal storage are always indexed.

After the files have been synchronized to Filr, the indexing process can begin.

IMPORTANT:Content indexing is performed as a background process. Depending on the number of files that need to be indexed, it can take several hours or even days before all of the content is indexed and searchable in the Filr system. Therefore, it is important to consider which files need to have their content be searchable.

For an overview of when indexing occurs in conjunction with Net Folder synchronization, see Section 13.2, Net Folder Synchronization Detail Overview.

For more information about Filr indexing, see Managing the Lucene Index in the Novell Filr 1.1 Administration Guide.
