4.1 Common Backup and Restore Problems

The media owner is unidentified

Possible Cause: Media is blank or was written in a non-SIDF format.

Unable to find the session log file you want

Possible Cause: The log file might be in a different directory or you might have deleted it accidentally.
Action: See Deleting the Log Files.

Pressing Insert on a device list does not produce a media list at the server

Possible Cause: No medium has been selected.
Action: Use the Select option at the bottom of the screen.

The Time Form Is Invalid message displays when you try to schedule a delayed backup

Possible Cause: The date has been entered incorrectly in the time form.
Action: Check that the scheduling has been entered correctly.

Incremental or differential backups on SLES work like full backups.

Explanation: Incremental and differential backups on SLES are not supported.
Action: Use the modified date and time filters to achieve similar functionality.
