G.4 Assigning the Bundles and Scheduling the Patching

After you complete the procedures in these sections, the servers you select are prepared to be patched with SLES 11 SP1 updates and OES 11 updates. The actual patching operations occur automatically as scheduled.

HINT:If you have a large-scale deployment, remember that you can set separate bundle deployment and installation schedules.

G.4.1 Assigning SLES11-SP1-Pool to the OES 11 Servers

To assign the SLES11-SP1-Pool bundle to the OES 11 servers and select a distribution schedule:

In ZENworks Control Center, click Bundles.
Click SLES11-SP1-Pool.
In the left column, select SLES11-SP1-Pool-bundle.
Click Action > Assign to Device.
In the Select Objects window, click the arrow next to Servers.
From the list of servers, select the servers that you want to assign the bundle to.
Click OK > Next.
Select the distribution schedule and click Next.
Select the distribution type.

Do not select Install Immediately after Distribution or Launch Immediately after Installation.
Click Next > Finish.

G.4.2 Assigning the OES11-Pool to the OES 11 Servers

To assign the OES11-Pool bundle to the OES 11 servers and select a distribution schedule:

In ZENworks Control Center, click Bundles.
Click OES11-Pool.
In the left column, select OES11-Pool-bundle.
Click Action > Assign to Device.
In the Select Objects window, click the arrow next to Servers.
From the list of servers, select the servers that you want to assign the bundle to.
Click OK > Next.
Select the distribution schedule and click Next.
Select the distribution type.

Do not select Install Immediately after Distribution or Launch Immediately after Installation.
Click Next> Finish.

G.4.3 Assigning SLES11-SP1-Updates to the OES 11 Servers

To assign the SLES11-SP1-Updates bundle to the OES 11 servers and select a distribution schedule:

In ZENworks Control Center, click Bundles.
Click SLES11-SP1-Updates.
In the left column, select SLES11-SP1-Updates-bundle.
Click Action > Assign to Device.
In the Select Objects window, click the arrow next to Servers.
From the list of servers, select the servers that you want to assign the bundle to.
Click OK > Next.
Select the distribution schedule and click Next.
Select the appropriate distribution type and select Install Immediately after Distribution.
Click Next > Finish.

G.4.4 Assigning OES11-Updates to the OES 11 Servers

To assign the OES11-Updates bundle to the OES 11 servers and select a distribution schedule:

In ZENworks Control Center, click Bundles.
Click OES11-Updates.
In the left column, select OES11-Updates-bundle.
Click Action > Assign to Device.
In the Select Objects window, click the arrow next to Servers.
From the list of servers, select the servers that you want to assign the bundle to.
Click OK > Next.
Select the distribution schedule and click Next.
Select the appropriate distribution type and select Install Immediately after Distribution.
Click Next> Finish.
