Legacy Policies

In you are upgrading from ZENworks for Desktops 3.2 SP3 to ZENworks 6.5, some legacy policies that have been discontinued will exist and still function.

Legacy Policies That Are Configurable in the Current Version of ConsoleOne

If you have upgraded from ZENworks for Desktops 3.2 SP3, the following polices display in ConsoleOne, where you can edit their configuration. If you have a new install of ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management, these policies will not display in ConsoleOne.

Client Configuration Policy (Workstation Package)

The Client Configuration policy contained in the Workstation package in ZENworks for Desktops 3.2 has been discontinued in ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management. You can, however, still use this policy and change its configuration settings using the current version of ConsoleOne.


NT Printer Policy (User and Workstation Packages)

The NT Printer policy contained in the User and Workstation packages in ZENworks for Desktops 3.2 has been discontinued in ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management. You can continue using these policies and change their configuration settings using the current version of ConsoleOne.

For greater functionality, you should use the Novell iPrint policy. For more information, see Novell iPrint Policy (User and Workstation Packages).


Restrict Login Policy (Workstation Package)

The Workstation Restrict Login policy contained in the Workstation package in ZENworks for Desktops 3.2 has been discontinued in ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management. You can, however, still use this policy and change its configuration settings using the current version of ConsoleOne.

NOTE:  If you want to continue using this policy, you must have the Novell Client (version 4.9 SP2) and the Desktop Management Agent installed on each workstation.


Legacy Policies That Are Not Configurable in the Current Version of ConsoleOne


RAS Configuration Policy (Workstation Package)

The RAS Configuration policy contained in the Workstation package in ZENworks for Desktops 3.2 has been discontinued in ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management. If you have upgraded from ZENworks for Desktops 3.2 SP3, the RAS Configuration policy does not display in ConsoleOne but the policy exists and continues to be enforced. You can still use this policy; however, to edit its configuration settings, you must use the ConsoleOne snap-ins that shipped with ZENworks for Desktops 3.2.


Legacy Policies That Have Been Discontinued


Windows Terminal Server Policy (User Package)

The Windows Terminal Server policy contained in the User package in previous versions of ZENworks for Desktops has been discontinued in ZENworks 6.5 Desktop Management.
