1.0 Getting Started

After reviewing the information provided in this readme, you should start with the Getting Started Guide. The Getting Started Guide provides information about the ZENworks 7 Suite products, including important installation and upgrade information.

2.0 What's New in ZENworks 7 with Support Pack 1 Interim Release 4

ZENworks 7 Suite with Support Pack 1 Interim Release 4 (SP IR4) includes updates to the following products:

The following products have not changed in this release. They are the same versions as those included in Support Pack 1 or Support Pack 1 Release 2.

  • Asset Inventory: Asset Inventory has not changed from version 7.5 in the Suite 7 SP1 R2 release. For a list of enhancements from previous Asset Inventory versions, see the ZENworks 7.5 Asset Management Readme.

  • Instant Messenger: Instant Messenger has not changed from the version 2.0.2 release. For more information, see the Novell Instant Messenger 2.0.2 Readme.

3.0 Upgrading from ZENworks 7 with Support Pack 1

If you are currently using the first release of ZENworks 7 Suite with Support Pack 1, be aware that Interim Release 4 includes updates for Desktop Management, Server Management, and Handheld Management only (see Section 2.0, What's New in ZENworks 7 with Support Pack 1 Interim Release 4, above).

Application of the Interim Release 4 patches for the respective product capabilities (ZENworks 7 Desktop Management SP1 IR4, ZENworks 7 Desktop Management Services on Linux SP1 IR4, and ZENworks 7 Server Management SP1 IR4) does not constitute a complete overlay of these products. Running the patch installation programs ugrades the products with the interim release fixes.

For SP1 IR4 installation information see the readme for ZENworks 7 Desktop Management with SP1 IR4 (also includes information the interim release for Desktop Management Services on Linux), and the readme for ZENworks 7 Server Management with SP1 IR4.
