This product contains undocumented utilities that Novell Support might use to diagnose or correct problems.
PlateSpin Recon 3.7.1 HotFix 1 includes the following new features and enhancements:
Maverick SSH library is updated to 1.0.18.
Improved Solaris Monitoring solution.
Improved Windows Disk Monitoring solution:
The registry crash because of Disk monitoring has been resolved.
A few issues because of category does not exist and index out of range have been resolved.
The issue with restarting remote registry in case of the dependent services has been handled with the disclaimer that if any service on the target server is dependent on the remote registry service, then the remote registry service on that target server is not restarted (which is a mandate for perfmon approach) and the Disk Utilization counters would not be collected for the target server.
The following issues have been resolved in this release:
Recon monitoring service continuously crashes.
Recon is not running the df command using Sudo user.
PowerRecon Monitoring fails with the following error: The given key was not present in the dictionary.
Inventory of UNIX or Linux Servers running tcsh shell fails.
PowerRecon Refresh Inventory of VC2.5 fails with the following errors: VC Inventory Failed and Failed to read virtual machine.
Datacenter Explorer displays domain name by adding .com as a suffix to the existing name.
The Disk Allocation report generation hangs or some reports are generated with no data.
Inventory of servers clears custom fields.
Recon server is unable to inventory disks on the Windows NT Server.
Inventorying the server fails with the following error: GetVolumes Error: Unable to create file(EC 123).
Report generation fails with Good consolidation template with custom Filter Extension.
AIX Monitoring Can't Collect NetworkInterface_BytesTotalPerSecond.
Forecasting Linear options not available during consolidation plan.
Organization Unit Filter and Domain Credentials fields are not displayed on the Windows Domain Inventory dialog box.
Custom counters collection do not work for Windows NT and Windows Vista.
Monitoring data for the Partitioned, Unpartitioned, Logical Disk Used and Logical Disk Free counters are delayed for new disks.
Logical volume and Disk counter legends might incorrectly include the # character.
You might encounter the following error on Windows 2003 and Windows XP devices:
The Counter layout for the Category specified is invalid.
When you monitor the RHEL servers with root user, the following error message is displayed:
sudo: sorry, you must have a tty to run sudo
Workaround: Use the visudo command to locate the following line, and comment the line:
Defaults requiretty
Workaround: Individually stop monitoring for each machine on which the monitoring runs.
