Using the Export and Import bundles feature, you can copy bundles from one zone to another. This feature helps you to export and import bundles from a test environment to a production environment.
Use Case: This feature is useful in a scenario where you want to deploy an application to multiple devices using the bundle feature, and prior to publishing the bundle, you want to test it to ensure that there are no glitches during deployment.
The bundle export and import feature enables you to create a bundle in a test zone and test the functionality of the bundle. After you have tested the bundle, you can export the bundle as a ZIP file to your local drive using the Export feature that is available in ZENworks Control Center (ZCC). The same ZIP file can then be imported to the production zone by using the Import feature.
This feature enables you to export bundles to the local drive. When you export bundles using this feature, metadata files, icons, settings and content files are exported. If you export bundles using the zman bundle-export-to-file command, only the bundle metadata (optionally bundle content) files are exported.
To export bundles:
Log into ZENworks Control Center, and in the left pane click Bundles.
Select the bundles that you want to export.
Click Action > Export Bundle.
Based on the browser settings, you will be either prompted for the download location or the bundle will be automatically saved to the default download location.
This feature enables you to import bundles from the local drive into the zone.
