Managing Extensible Policies

In addition to the functions you can do as outlined under Managing Novell Policies, you can do the following for extensible policies:


Adding an Extensible Policy

  1. In NetWare® Administrator, right-click a User or Workstation Policy Package > click Details.

  2. Click a user or workstation extensible policy > Details.

    Make sure the policy has a check mark in its box.

  3. Double-click the user or workstation icon.

  4. Click Add and enter the name of an .ADM file.


Editing an Extensible Policy

  1. In NetWare Administrator, right-click a User or Workstation package > click Details.

  2. Click a user or workstation extensible policy > Details.

    Make sure the policy has a check mark in its box.

  3. Double-click the user or workstation icon.Click a policy in the ADM Files list.

  4. In the Policies list, expand the tree as necessary and edit the policies.


Removing an Extensible Policy

WARNING: Do not manually delete an .ADM file from its directory unless you have first removed it from the ADM Files list in the Extensible Policies dialog box. If you delete it from the directory first, registry changes that enable the policy will still be in effect.

  1. In NetWare Administrator, right-click a User or Workstation package > click Details.

  2. Click a user or workstation extensible policy > Details.

    Make sure the policy has a check mark in its box.

  3. Double-click the user or workstation icon.

  4. Click a policy in the ADM Files list.

  5. Click Remove.

    The .ADM file can now be deleted from its directory.
