Activating Novell Identity Manager Products

The following information explains how activation works for products based on Novell^® Nsure^TM Identity Manager. The Identity Manager Professional or Server edition and driver groups must be activated within 90 days of installation, otherwise they will shut down. At any time during the 90 days, or afterward, you can choose to activate Identity Manager products.

NOTE:  Activating a driver does not change your current configuration or install a newer version of the driver shim. It simply changes the driver to an activated state.

You can activate Identity Manager and driver groups by using one of two methods. The first method involves the following tasks:

• Purchasing an Identity Manager Product License
• Activating Identity Manager Products Using a Generic Credential
• Installing a Product Activation Credential

The second method involves the following tasks:

• Purchasing an Identity Manager Product License
• Generating a Product Activation Request
• Submitting a Product Activation Request
• Installing a Product Activation Credential
