24.1 Configuring GroupWise as the Conferencing E-Mail System

By default, Conferencing is configured to send meeting invitation messages from the administrator account of the SMTP server on the host where Conferencing is installed. You do not need to use the GroupWise Internet Agent for this purpose, but you can.

24.1.1 Preparing for GroupWise Integration with Conferencing

Before you install Conferencing with GroupWise, you need to gather the following GroupWise information:

  • A GroupWise user who has been designated as a Postmaster for the Internet Agent. This user receives messages about problems with the Conferencing server.

  • The IP address or DNS hostname of a server where the GroupWise Internet Agent is running.

  • A GroupWise username and password for the Conferencing mailer to use when connecting to the GroupWise Internet Agent to transfer meeting invitation messages into the GroupWise system (optional).
