Data Communications Magazine Latest to Recognize Novell's BorderManager
Provo, Utah March 4, 1998 Internet software leader Novell, Inc. today
announced that BorderManager has received two more industry awards - from Data
Communications
Magazine and Federal Computer Week Magazine - and has now garnered nine industry awards in
just six
months from around the world. BorderManager is the industry's first integrated family of
directory-based
network services that manages, secures and accelerates user access to information at every
network border.
These awards clearly demonstrate Novell's leadership and innovation in developing this new
product
family, which provides a comprehensive solution for businesses that need to take advantage of the
Internet.
The Data Communications Hot Products Award was awarded to Novell's BorderManager on the
criteria of
the product boasting a key technology differentiator that sets it apart from the competition.
"Novell Inc. is
sending notice it's serious about TCP/IP. BorderManager features a fully stocked IP toolbox,
giving
network managers a way to deliver IP connectivity simply, safely, and cheaply." (Data
Communications,
January 1998, p.33)
BorderManager was also recently awarded a "Government Best Buy" from Federal Computer

liked the
innovative caching solution. "Where BorderManager really shines is in the area of
performance...web
access is notably faster with the proxy cache." (Federal Computer Week, Jan. 5, 1998, p.17)
"We're pleased that BorderManager has realized such great acceptance in the industry in just six
