We recommend that you do not install this Public Beta software in a production environment.
If you are an authorized beta sites who received Authorized Beta 1 or Beta 2 software, you must re-image your test machines before you install ZENworks 6.5 Public Beta 1. Do not attempt to install ZENworks 6.5 Public Beta 1 over ZENworks 6.5 Authorized Beta 1 or Beta 2.
This beta release includes English software for all components and some French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese software for Desktop Management and Handheld Management. Only the English software is supported in this release.
If you click Desktop Management or Handheld Management in the Installation program and then select a language other than English, the resulting installation pages are English. In addition, the documentation links on those pages do not work.
When you view online help from a page in ConsoleOne, you can click a link to ZENworks Desktop Management Documentation. This opens another help topic that should display a link to current online documentation. This link is not displayed in the help topic.
To work around this problem, copy the jh.jar and njha.jar files from the novell consoleone\helpjarupdate directory of the Novell ZENworks 6.5 Companion 1 CD to the ConsoleOne_install_path\consoleoneext directory after you install the product.
If you install Novell iFolder from the Data Management page (Installation program > Data Management > Novell iFolder), the Installation program launches the iFolder installation for Windows IIS servers. If you want to install iFolder to a NetWare 6 server running Apache Web Server, insert the Data Management CD in a Windows workstation, change to the \english directory, then launch ApacheiFolderServer.exe. The server's NetWare version must be NetWare 6 Support Pack 2 (SP2) or Support Pack 3 (SP3).
The ZENworks 6.5 Companion 1 CD includes Novell eDirectory 8.7.3 for Windows. If you plan to install this version, you must download the files needed to create an eDirectory 8.7.x evaluation license diskette. You can download the files from the Novell Product Downloads Web site. eDirectory 8.7.3 includes a licensing wizard that requires this diskette.
