The Link Configuration tool helps you customize the links between domains within your GroupWise system and between your GroupWise system and other email systems across the Internet.
Source Domain List: Lists all of the domains in your GroupWise system. Select a source domain to configure its outbound link to a destination domain.
Destination Domain List: Lists all of the domains that the selected source domain can link to, along with their current link types. Select the destination domain for the outbound link that you want to configure.
Destination domains are flagged with the link type and link status icons. For indirect links, intermediate domains are listed with destination domains.
Link Type: (Optional) For this outbound link, change the link type from the source domain to the destination domain.
Protocol: For this outbound link, select the communication protocol between the source MTA and the destination MTA.
For each protocol, default link information is provided based on information already specified when you created and configured the Domain and MTA objects. From the Link Configuration tool, you can change the information already specified for the Domain and MTA objects, or you can override it with link-specific information.
TCP/IP: The source MTA transfers messages to the destination MTA through a TCP/IP connection. This is the recommended link protocol for both the Linux MTA and the Windows MTA.
Address: Specify the IP address of the destination MTA server.
Port: Specify the message transfer port on which the destination MTA listens to receive messages.
Override: Select Override to specify an alternate IP address and port for the MTA. This can be used for communication between external GroupWise systems where the MTAs must communicate through firewalls by using Network Address Translation (NAT) and Port Address Translation (PAT).
Maximum Send Message Size: Specify the maximum size in megabytes for message files that the MTA can process. By default, there is no size limit.
If a message file exceeds the maximum allowed size, the sender and the administrator receive a "delivery disallowed" message specifying the size of the rejected message file and the size limitation.
A message file includes all text associated with a message: the message body, the message distribution list, and any attachments. Because message files are compressed, attachments that would exceed the maximum size in their uncompressed state can still be processed successfully.
Delay Message Size: Specify the size in megabytes for message files that the MTA can process immediately.
If a message file exceeds the delay message size, the message file is moved into the low priority (6) message queue. This arrangement allows typical messages to be processed promptly, while delaying large messages that exceed the specified size. The result is that large messages do not slow down processing of typical messages.
Mapped: The source MTA transfers messages to the destination MTA across a mapped drive into the MTA input queue folder on the destination domain server. This pertains only to the Windows MTA and requires that the source MTA have write access to the destination domain server.
Path: Specify the location of the destination domain using a format of drive:\domain_folder.
Path: Specify the location of the destination domain using a format of \\server\domain_folder.
Override: Select Override to specify an alternate path for the destination domain.

Indirect Link Domain: Select the intermediate domain that you want the source domain to route messages through when sending them to the destination domain. An indirect link can include one or more intermediate domains.
Routing Path: Verify the indirect route between the source domain and the destination domain to make sure that the path through one or more intermediate domains meets your expectations.

Return Link: Specify the keyword string that provides the additional routing information needed by the foreign email system to recognize the gateway. The return link is the Gateway ID assigned to the gateway when it was created.
Gateway Access String: Specify the keyword string recognized by the foreign email system to establish the link between that system and your GroupWise gateway. It is unique for each gateway. You might need to supply this information to the system administrator at the foreign email site.
