To block inherited rights to a file or folder

1. Browse to the file or folder.
2. Right-click the file or folder choose Properties Inherited Rights Filter.
3. To block a right, deselect its check box. To let a right flow through, select its check box. The Supervisor right cannot be blocked. The other check boxes are disabled if you don't have the Supervisor or Access Control right to the file or folder. For descriptions of the individual rights, see Rights (File System).
4. Click OK or Apply to save the filter.

A filter blocks rights that are inherited from higher levels in the file system by all trustees, but it does not block rights that are explicitly granted to a trustee at the current level.
