Specifying Directory Service Information

You specify the default directory in the Configure Directory Service form (from the NetWare Web Manager, click Global Preferences > Configure Directory Service). NDSTM is the default directory.

The Directory Server Control Options form specifies the username and password used to connect LDAP or the local directory. If you are using NDS, this form is not applicable.

To change the username and password that connects to the directory server:

  1. From the General Administration page, click the News Server server name button > Server Preferences > Directory Server Options.

  2. Type the user ID that identifies the News Server to LDAP or the local directory service.

  3. In the Password and Again fields, type the password associated with the user ID.

  4. Click OK.

    If you get an error when you click OK, the user ID and password you specified are probably incorrect.
