Adding Keys
Overview
Driver Process drivers provided by Novell are signed with a driver build key which is not present by default on SLES9 or NLD. Because the key is not in place, SLES9/NLD9 customers who wish to automatically install updated Driver Process drivers may receive "integrity check" errors when the kernel-update-tool tries to install an updated driver. SLES9/NLD9 customers can prevent/resolve the "integrity check" errors by manually importing the driver build key.

How to Import the Novell Driver Build Key
- On the SLES9/NLD9 system, issue the following command to view the keys in place on the system:
rpm -qa gpg-pubkey*
If the output does not include the line "gpg-pubkey-7e2e3b05-44748aba", the driver build key has not been imported. Continue to the next step to import the key.
- On your SLES9 system, create a file "gpg-pubkey-7e2e3b05-44748aba.asc", with the following content:
-----BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (GNU/Linux) mQGiBER0iroRBADfqUeJmPCXqPJFnf3CVKy40dL1F+gfvP+JHN7/uu4c9+oCYjI1 uAE8iGTm/Twb/Zzbs4dt0iWjhNFXbRi42rMww4d/8QcPYZ21WSehh+fv8nCjt2sw LeC87ar2SR8OTpJBK0fQlcd4e6H5GMntfI6SYEUOPd8m/eQ+4+1AxpUUpwCgswaF 13fePZGI//pDn5tGjbvmaP8D/R3qum/I+oDS8lbFeeDS10GkEkwTYec13gdfsq6I yzIj7VBsC+rGfbipv+VGR61Q4d19pOHKLDekr9OG+3G4ZcYM4NQvQZR+QIlp3xWu nBmYD1LRkHLVj+Z4DGQhjjOffkPSuacKPymMaZ/aRiLgTIAo97W2YPhutscXrLSG 2Y+BA/4jsyaDb7kbW4wc8RtPIcuFEheVqgBeRakP9Uj47kBMBEpPtI/mIdY5liKk ztKnuQG6ROYLNV/PW0ZbE1uT64C710weh4cB3PnZLV5P10deDLBjHk8MJQGCTSDD JYvhutUzQfshAU6j2kErGvKdZxWGezab34vFyMP2oLGqswPAJrRQTm92ZWxsIFBy b3ZvIEJ1aWxkIChDb250YWN0IHNlY3VyaXR5QG5vdmVsbC5jb20pIDxub3ZlbGwt cHJvdm8tYnVpbGRAbm92ZWxsLmNvbT6IZgQTEQIAJgUCRHSKugIbAwUJA8JnAAYL CQgHAwIEFQIIAwQWAgMBAh4BAheAAAoJEBTCi8l+LjsFWEoAn13x+5ObqkW08gYF YNDlcGPjQuGPAJ9kAQbVUvvh1u9mBgu91cQ9W/TkHYhGBBMRAgAGBQJEexD/AAoJ EKhO2uicgArKFLwAn0B+g2mJ5n8LrBziTQ5SjnSPyDBXAJwJoYTta5Sfw/3vVGpU fJAKVDoB9w== =tJSz -----END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK-----
- From within the directory containing the gpg-pubkey-7e2e3b05-44748aba.asc file, issue the following command to import this key into your keyring:
rpm --import gpg-pubkey-7e2e3b05-44748aba.asc
- Note that while the above steps describe how to import the Novell driver build key, the same approach may be used to import any key. Therefore, partners who sign their own drivers (rather than having Novell sign them) will need to provide their own key to their customers. The customers can then import the partner's key using the basic approach detailed above.
