PHP for NetWare

PHP (PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor) is a cross-platform, HTML-embedded, general purpose, server-side scripting language that is used to create dynamic Web pages. PHP comes with a wide range of extensions for XML, LDAP, and various databases and is typically used in combination with the Apache Web server and MySQL* database.

PHP for NetWare® is based on open source PHP version 4.2.3 and PHP version 5.0.5. On NetWare, PHP supports standard extensions and an extension for LDAP, XML, and MySQL*. It also has an UCS extension (PHP2UCS) that can be used to access various Novell services such as eDirectory, File IO, Server Management, and Volume Administration. Through UCS, PHP can use UCX components, JavaBeans* and classes, and remote ActiveX* controls.

For information on how to set up your NetWare 6 server to take advantage of NetWare, Apache, MySQL, and PHP/Perl (NetWare AMP), see the Introduction to NetWare AMP whitepaper.
