Updates were made to the following sections. The changes are explained below.


Installing Policy and Distribution Services on NetWare and Windows Servers

The following changes were made in this section:

Determining the eDirectory Tree for Policy and Distribution Services Objects

Added more information to the third paragraph, as follows:

Tiered Electronic Distribution (TED) objects will be created in the tree you select for installation. Because TED uses IP addresses and DNS names for identifying servers, the TED objects can be easily associated with the servers, whether they are NetWare servers whose NCPTM objects reside in the installation tree or in other trees, or Windows servers contained in domains. This lets you manage the TED objects for your entire network from one eDirectory tree.


Installing ZENworks for Servers in a Clustered Environment

The following changes were made in this section:

 If you are installing the LANalyzer® AgentTM on a shared volume, update the LANZ.NCF file in the ZfS_Agnt\LANZ directory by adding the location where you want the trend files to be generated as shown:

   load GTREND.NLM \dvolume_name:\directory

Installing Server Inventory in a Cluster

Added new a new task if you have installed Server Inventory components only.


Upgrading from ZENworks for Servers 2

The following changes were made in this section:

Added new information to the task list and created a new section on updating the NWSETENV.NCF file.

The new information concerns modifications you must make to the NWSETENV.NCF file when upgrading a server from NetWare® 5.1 to NetWare 6 after having already installed ZfS 3.

What the Upgrade Wizard Does Not Do

Added the following bullet:

Upgrading Server Inventory

Steps were added for uninstalling the ZfS 2 Inventory Agent on NetWare and Windows NT/2000 servers.


Uninstalling ZENworks for Servers

The following changes were made in this section:

Removing the Software on UNIX Servers

Reworded Step 3 (removed "If necessary"), and inserted a new Step 4:

 Manually delete the /usr/ZENworks directory and any remaining contents.

   rm -rf /usr/ZENworks

 Manually delete the zfs executable.

   rm /etc/init.d/zfs


Installing Supporting Software To Meet ZfS System Requirements

The following changes were made in this section:

Installing ConsoleOne 1.3.3 from the ZENworks for Servers Companion CD

Added the following note in Step 5.

IMPORTANT:  If you are upgrading from ZfS 2, we recommend that you use the 1.2 subdirectory so that you can manage both ZfS versions from the same instance of ConsoleOne. For more information, see Upgrading from a Previous Version of ZENworks for Servers .

Installing the iManager Files on NetWare 6

Changed the second paragraph in the following note, and added a TID number reference:

IMPORTANT:  If you are using any of the Novell product plug-ins to Novell iManager that were installed with NetWare 6, search the Knowledgebase at Novell Technical ServicesSM for TID 2961929 for instructions.


What's New in ZENworks for Servers

The following changes were made in this section:

File Type Distributions

Removed the "File Ownership" bullet, because the information is not applicable.

Other New TED Features

New information was added to the following bullet concerning iManager.

  • Console Commands: Most console commands have been removed for the Distributor and Subscriber consoles. Instead, use the ZfS Management role in iManager.

ZfS Management Role in iManager

Changed the minimum Internet Explorer version from 5. to 5.5 in the third paragraph.

ZfS Management Role in iManager

Removed the fourth paragraph, because Netscape is no longer supported.
