Novell Reaches out to Hurricane Katrina Victims

For more than a week now, Novell has been involved in efforts to help those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Here are a few of the ongoing efforts the company and its employees are involved in.

financial support

Novell has made a sizable contribution on behalf of its employees. Similar to the support offered during the Tsunami relief effort, Novell's donation will help the residents of the region as they rebuild their homes and lives.

technical support

Beginning this week, affected customers are able to call Novell Technical Services, provide a special pass-code, and receive free technical support.

Novell's Channel Team is preparing "partner packets" for Novell Partners in Louisiana and Mississippi. These packets include coupons good for free technical support incidents. This empowers regional partners to reach out to their own customers who are in need of support.

email hosting

Novell's Information Services and Technology team is working with Novell Technical Services to host GroupWise messaging servers. These servers are being hosted at Novell's Provo campus for customers that have lost their own servers in the disaster.

replacement software

Novell's Sales Operations arm is helping customers find their lost contract numbers so they can access the Customer Care portal and download new copies of lost or damaged software. Since communication links are still unreliable -- and downloads sometimes impossible -- sales operations will send physical installation disks if needed.

ongoing donations

Novell has made its financial contribution to the American Red Cross. Please join us by making a donation of your own. More information can be found at http://www.redcross.org/.
