NetVision Focuses on Protecting Networks from Insider Attacks with ServerAlertä

New product offers real-time alerting when unauthorized file access and server operations occurs for Novell networks

March 27, 2000, Salt Lake City--

NetVision, Inc., the leading provider of network directory management solutions, today announced ServerAlert. This is the industry’s first real-time alerting product designed for Novell networks that deters insider attacks. ServerAlert achieves this by providing real-time alerts when unauthorized file access and server activity occurs. NetVision will unveil ServerAlert at Novell’s BrainShare 2000 user conference this week.

With today’s announcement, NetVision continues the strong focus on real-time alerting to help strengthen network security that began with the company’s launch of DirectoryAlertä , in August 1999. DirectoryAlert provides real-time alerts when suspicious directory object activity is detected in Novell Directory Services (NDS). Now, with the addition of ServerAlert, NetVision lets administrators extend their ability to pinpoint security breaks all the way to files and servers.

ServerAlert's real-time alerting ensures that appropriate personnel are alerted immediately whenever unauthorized file or server activities occur. Network administrators can set ServerAlert’s parameters to address their pressing and unique network security concerns.

"We are pleased to expand our support for Novell and its one Net strategy with the introduction of ServerAlert," said Todd Lawson, president of NetVision. "ServerAlert strengthens Novell's strategy by protecting critical e-business data and servers from one of the most insidious and prevalent problems--insider attacks."

"As Novell delivers on its one Net strategy, products such as ServerAlert will be crucial elements toward securing e-business data and servers from inside attacks," said David Shirk, senior vice president of product management for Novell.

Like all NetVision products, ServerAlert is a non-intrusive solution, ensuring that minimal time is required to implement and maintain the software.

Pricing and Availability

ServerAlert is priced per server at US$3995 with significant discounts available when ServerAlert is purchased with DirectoryAlert as well as volume discounting. ServerAlert will be available during Q2 2000.
