WHITE PINE SOFTWARE AND NOVELL DEMONSTRATE VISUAL INSTANT MESSAGING AT BRAINSHARE CONFERENCE

Companies Continue Joint Development of Visual Collaboration Solution and Relationship Announced in October ‘99

 

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – March 27, 2000 – Novell Inc. (NASDAQ: NOVL), the world’s leading provider of directory-enabled networking software, and White Pine Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: WPNE), a leading provider of multimedia conferencing applications for the Internet and intranets, announced today that the two companies will demonstrate their visual instant messaging technology at BrainShare 2000, Novell’s annual developer’s conference being held this week in Salt Lake City.

White Pine and Novell originally announced a development partnership in October of 1999 in conjunction with the introduction of digitalme™ and instantme™. Novell is using White Pine’s CU-SeeMeÒ Web technology to video-enable its instant messaging client. Novell is also using White Pine’s MeetingPointÔ conference server to facilitate multipoint visual collaboration.
