NeVS The integration will provides real-time event notification of changes in an NDS directory, including the addition, deletion and modification of directory objects. These changes are reported instantly anywhere within an organization. Examples of real-time events include security violations, policy changes and the addition of new users. This new product has been requested by developers working on the NDS platform who require a means to subscribe and react to directory events.

In addition, Novell developers will be provided a programming interface to NeVS through the SmartSockets API and class libraries in order to accelerate the development of additional applications on the NDS platform. The SmartSockets-integration enabled NeVS is a focal point of Novell’s enhancement of NDS in 2000 and further positions Novell as a leader in directory services enabled networking arena.
