VERITAS Software Receives 2000 NovellSoftware Developer Excellence Award
Novell Recognizes VERITAS Software for the Companys Commitment to Quality
in its Data Protection Products for NetWare
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. April 4, 2001 VERITAS Software Corporation (Nasdaq: VRTS), The Data Availability Company, today announced that it was a recipient of an annual Novell® Software Developer Excellence Award at BrainShare® 2001 held in Salt Lake City.

VERITAS Software introduced version 9.0 of VERITAS Backup Exec for NetWare at BrainShare 2001 (see press release dated March 19). Now a pure Internet protocol (IP) solution, VERITAS Backup Exec for NetWare delivers the latest backup and restore technology for complete protection of critical NetWare server and workstation data. The latest release includes a redesigned graphical user interface with wizards, remote connectivity support for Novell NetWare 4.x, 5.x and Microsoft® Windows NT® and Windows 2000 servers, new media management capabilities and other enhancements to provide increased functionality and manageability.
