Services

The Services tab enables you to access information on the following:

My Services: The My Services view in the Customer Portal displays services that are assigned to the Customer or the Organizational Unit to which services are assigned.

Service Catalog: The Service Catalog Menu option is available if the system has the Show all Services option enabled in the Admin >Setup >Privileges >Customer tab.

As a Customer, you can use the Service Catalog view only if the Show all Services option is enabled in the Admin >Setup >Privileges >Customer tab.

Within the Service Catalog screen, you can view all services offered by the Service Desk, regardless of the ownership status. It also enables you to request access to Services you might not already own.

If a description of the Service has been entered by the Service Desk, scrolling over the Service # link will display the Service Description. Click the link to access further information, such as attribute fields marked as Customer Visible and Service Targets.

Creating a Service Request

Within the Services tab, Customers can create a new Request against any service included in the list. If Customers have access to multiple Services, a new Request can be easily generated: by selecting a service within the My Services or Service Catalog list view to access the Service Details, then clicking on one of these icons.

To create

  • an Incident, click

  • a service request, click

  • a create a change request, click .

This will pre-populate all the fields for the Request, except the Classification and Description fields that requires user input before saving the Request.

Alternatively you can also create a request from New Request.

Viewing details of a service

To view the properties of a service:

  1. Click on one of the Service # hyperlinks in the Service Catalog list.

  2. To view specific Service Details, click .

  3. Click Done to return to the complete service catalog list.

  4. To edit the details of a service, click Edit.

  5. Click Cancel to return the Services page.

Searching for Services

To search for Services, Customers can use the Search option within the Search window sidebar. The search can be refined by Service number, Type, or Category. By selecting the Category, the fields defined as Customer Visible for the Category selected are displayed.

Use to execute the search or to reset the Search field.
