3.1 Install Checklist

Setting up Retain can be somewhat intimidating as it connects to many things. This checklist should help make sure you do not forget any steps. Some steps depend on you to choose what is appropriate to your system, for example which module and tools to install.

  1. Secure a copy of your company’s retention policy. Retain can help you implement it Retain Planning and Design Best Practices, but you have to know what the policy is.

  2. Select your Retain admin credentials.

  3. Gather SMTP host connection information.

  4. Install web server. Install Web Server

  5. Install a database on the Retain server, or gather database connection information. SQL Database Guides

  6. Create a database for Retain to use. Create a Retain Database
